Carcharocles angustidens, Summerville SC, 2&3/8”, listing no. 2204

This is a large upper anterior tooth from Carcharocles angustidens, the evolutionary predecessor to the fearsome Megalodon shark. This tooth dates from the Oligocene to early Miocene periods, between 22 and 34 million years ago. The color patterns on this tooth are exceptionally nice!

All of my fossils are personally collected from the Charleston, SC area and are completely natural, with no repair or restoration.
